Last year Blackmagic Design comes up with their exciting range of ATEM Mini/Pro/ISO series low cost, multi camera, live production with advanced broadcast features.

Today Blackmagic Design had added another new AETM Mini device to their new exciting range of ATEM Mini Device Series. Now you will have Five Great ATEM Mini Models to choose from. Out of all ATEM Mini Series devices have inbuilt live streaming capabilities except the base model. So I would say if you need a compact switcher cum audio mixer cum streaming device, this is best option you have at the most affordable price range. In a live YouTube video Blackmagic design had unveiled their new ATEM Mini Extreme and ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. WOW! That what my expressions were when they start demonstrating the product. This new ATEM Mini Extreme had got almost all if not all for which the existing ATEM Mini/Pro/ ISO uses were missing. As if they had heard the shout of the pain of the users and try to overcome a few drawbacks in their earlier ATEM Mini models. ATEM Mini Extreme/ISO features plus 8 HDMI inputs, 2 separate HDMI outputs, 2 USB ports and a headphone connection. Apart from this there are also 4 chroma keyers, 6 picture in picture DVEs, 2 media players, and a multiview with up to 16 views.

Huge relief in AUX out with 2 programmable HDMI out. If you are an ATEM Mini/Pro/ISO user the one thing you would be missing is additional PGM out and had to made hard choice of choosing between PGM/Preview when it comes to AUX out. But here in this new ATEM Mini Extreme ISO series you have a choice of using 2 programmable HDMI out where u can use both as program out or can use one as preview and other as a program out. Whoa! That’s a huge relief actually.

The other thing ATEM Mini users were crying about is a lack of headphone out to monitor audio. Again, here the Blackmagic design had listened to us and given a mic out in the device itself. As an existing ATEM Mini/Pro/ISO users have to use an external device to split the video and extract audio if I want to monitor audio and share program out for secondary monitor/projector. But with this ATEM Mini Extreme/Extreme ISO their flaws are removed by providing 2 HDMI programmable HDMI out and a headphone out.

One more addition to the this exciting new ATEM Mini Extreme are 2 type C USB ports. In earlier ATEM Mini/Pro/ISO models there is only 1 type C USB port. All all ATEM Mini models feature USB that operates as a simple webcam source. You can use any HDMI camera as a USB camera on your PC that too in 1080HD quality. You can use it in any software of your choice like, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Skype. Also you can use ATEM Mini webcam output with streaming software’s such as Open Broadcaster, XSplit Broadcaster, Vmix , Wirecast and more! In ATEM Mini Pro and Extreme models you can also do recording of your streaming data to USB flash disks and get very long recordings in the same H.264 video files with AAC audio that you are streaming. Now you can direct upload to any online video site, such as YouTube. So you can use the USB port for recording, as a webcam and also for tethering your mobile and stream by using your mobile phone internet. Isn’t it amazing. This new feature comes with software update 8.6. So, if you haven’t updated your ATEM do it now. This new feature in not available in ATEM MINI base model.

Blackmagic design had added so much thing in such a tiny device you would have ever imagined. In ATEM Mini and Pro series there are 4 HDMI inputs which are ok in most of the cases but for more flexibility BMD had added 4 more HDMI inputs. Yes, you have 8 HDMI inputs in ATEM Mini Extreme/Extreme ISO. The best part is Each of the HDMI inputs comes with their own dedicated standards converter which means ATEM Mini’s will automatically convert 1080p, 1080i and 720p sources to the switcher video standard or any video standard of your choice.

With Blackmagic Design own ATEM Software Control software you can get extended and more advanced features of your ATEM Mini like Advanced Chroma Key, Fairlight audio mixer, DVE, still store for graphics and very much more! The ATEM Software Control put much advanced features of ATEM Mini at your fingertips.
